KuYa JoaQuin meETs jAcoB

For months we have been prepping Kuya Joaquin of the role he is to play once Baby Jacob arrives.  Our greatest fear perhaps is that Kuya J might reject Baby J, or worse, Kuya J will feel hatred and jealously towards Baby J.  Every night Hubby and I would talk to Kuya J telling him how important it is to be a loving, protective Kuya to Baby J, furthermore, we would let Kuya J talk and sing to Baby J (still in my tummy) every night.

When the big day finally arrived, I was praying hard that everything would go well...

Dearest Kuya Joaquin,

Anak, today was the big day!  You finally met your brother Jacob.  Papa and I were anxiously waiting for you, since you were sleeping at Kingsville with Lola Vi for the past days now, and thinking as to what your reaction would be when you will finally see Jacob.

An excited knock on our door, combined with a loud strong voice "Mama! Papa! Im here!", confirmed your arrival.  Papa opened the door, you peeked your head first, then stormed in straight towards me.  I stopped you in your tracks and pointed to where your brother was.  Your eyes popped wide open, stared at Jacob, then stared back at me, while mouthing the word "Jacob", with much delight in your face.  

Then as if there were no other people in the room, your whole attention was locked in on Jacob and Jacob alone.  You can't stop staring and touching your brother.  Papa and I were so delighted and happy! I am so proud of you Anak.

Papa and I knew right then and there that you will be a great loving Kuya to Baby J, and that you will protect and love your brother no matter what.  Thank you Anak.

Now, the only thing left to do is to teach you Kuya to handle and hold Jacob as delicately as possible.  Sometimes in your state of excitement, you tend 'na mangigil' towards Jacob. Hahaha!  No worries anak, I know Jacob knows your intentions :)
