We arrived at Medical City at around 3:30am , I was first ushered in the pre-labor room where they checked my vitals, the baby's, and monitored my contractions. My contractions were 7-8 minutes apart and I was 4cm dilated with 70% effacement, so the doctors decided that it was time. My husband was ordered to get a room while they prepared the Lamaze room (note: I didn't do Lamaze but I wanted the use of the Lamaze room so that hubby can be with me). I was wheeled in the Lamaze room at exactly 4:40am
Hubby chillaxing at the Lamaze room while I was watching the television.
At around 7:00am my contractions were 2-4 minutes apart, but they were surprised that I wasn't feeling any pain at all. They even reminded me that I can have the Epidural anytime I wanted, but the smug pride in me insisted that "nah, kaya ko pa and wala naman kaya pain".... but by 7:30am I was cursing and shouting for Epidural. lol.
With my first born Joaquin, Epidural was administered to me at an early time that's why I didn't feel any pain at all. But with this second pregnancy, since I delayed the Epidural... Wow! Pain is an understatement... It's the severest dysmenorrhea one can imagine combined with a knock-out lower back pain. UNBELIEVABLE. I salute those Mommies who are able to give birth without any anesthesia at all.
At 8:30am, I was fully dilated. The resident doctors and nurses scrambled to prep me up for the delivery.

After 3 pushes (im not kidding, 3 pushes were all it took)...at exactly 9:07am,Wednesday,May 18, 2011
