YoghuRT anYonE

Since I really had a 'stupid' moment during the cooking methods exams, classmates decided to melt our hot heads in 'bowlfulls' of yoghurt.

Loved the place! Loved the yoghurt!  It's like a big candy store of yoghurt wherein you can choose the flavors of yoghurt plus the condiments you want to add. Be careful though, you might get lost will all the chocolates, nuts, and candy condiments that you might forget that everything is measured by the weight P18.00/oz.  My total - P203.00! lol! Go figure

Afterwhich we headed over to Labybare to have a 'Rio de Janero'. lol.  See what happens when I go 'dum-dum' on an exam! lol.

The Tv aTe my Son

I think this is a cause for alarm.  Joaquin is in love with the television.  I don't how it started. You see, my son was never interested with television, I even boasted it a couple of times to other mommies.  So I was quite baffled and surprised when Joaquin gets into tantrum mode when he can't watch the shows he wants. My mother's instinct is instantly alerted, gut says this is a cause for alarm.  No, I wont call for back-up....yet, but Joaquin must be supervised more... definitely.
Other than that, I have nothing else to complain.  He is God's greatest gift to us.  At 2 year and 10 months, I can barely keep up with him, let alone get away from him! Lol.

One sunny hot day, after a long hours work at the kitchen, I went home to seek my much needed sleep.  I was glad to see that little boy (LB) was asleep. Yey!  I can sleep at peace besides him!  But as soon as my back touched the sofa, LB woke up and greeted me with his angelic smile.  The following exchange then occurred:

LB: "Hi Mama!  Puede gawa mo ko bread with palaman?"
Mama: Since I was so dead tired and my one eye was almost shut down, I grabbed the nearest thing
which was a lonely biscuit and said "Anak no more bread na, we only have biscuit!"
LB: Meron pa Mama!
Mama: No more Baby!
LB: Not as gullible as I thought, then went down the sofa, rushed to the refrigerator, opened it, and
pulled out the much-debated bread and palaman, and with a voice full of triumph. "Eto o!
Ayan sabi! Meron eh" sabay wiggle ng katawan sa tuwa.
Mama: Not to be easily defeated replies "That's not ours Baby!  That is Papa's bread! We can't touch
that." Sabay pray that LB just give up and go back to bed
LB:  Not to be defeated as well, retorts back "Sa yo to Mama! Kita ko ikaw eat to palagi!  Gawa mo na
ko with palaman dali!" with a matching smug look.
Mama: Raised her white flag in surrender, stood up and said "Ay oo nga noh! Hindi nakita ni Mama
ung bread! Cge will make you now." Scratched her head and made an amused smile.  LB is too
smart and can't be outwitted. lol!

To vALenTineS or nOT

At the economic situation we are all in, I'm one of the supporters of the 'be practical' movement like, 'why ride when you can walk', 'why pay for that, when you can get it for half the price', etc...

But when it comes to Valentines day.... I'm a hopeless romantic and a sucker for flowers.  Husband hates the thought of wasting money on flowers, since he reasons, that the money used to pay for the damn expensive-will-wilt-in-the-morning flowers is almost equivalent to half what he spends on us when we dine out.

Ok fine.  So little 'ol romantic me went home early and prepared my dinner out outfit, only to find out, husband made other plans, which I wont divulge at baka may nakababasa. lol.

So next year, I know now what to do... to not expect. lol.

CaBbAge anYone?

I've always seen cabbage as... something you put in nilaga... until this kitchen week.

Chilindron with Braised Chinese Cabbage, served with Potato croquettes

Braised Cabbage Roll with Suzette Potato.

I never thought I'd love cabbage like this!  The Cabbage roll is Y-U-M O!  Will cook this at home most definitely.

Where did my January go?

The last I remember was the whole family gathered at our house to celebrate New Year’s eve, then everything was a blur or activities, stresses, exams, practical’s, chefs shouting, students crying, friends becoming enemies, enemies becoming friends, friends becoming lovers, etc…  Oh yeah!  There was also the celebration of my big 3-0 birthday :)

And now welcome the month of love!
