Continuing our Singapore adventure...

Little boy enjoyed the big spacious malls

Enjoyed food trip!

Where Little boy enjoyed the Singapore Flyer and Duck Tour.

It was an interesting and enjoyable trip indeed.  Yes I am a happy but a part of me can't help but be sad... Another Christmas again without my side of the family...

The last time Hubby and I were in Singapore, I was 4 months pregnant with Joaquin. 3 years later, we are back in Singapore, I still look pregnant (lol), but enjoying every moment in Singapore with my little big bundle of joy.

joAquin's chRisTmas PresEnTaTion

This is the last day of classes for me and so is for Joaquin. It is important that I attend my last day, since the recipes will not be handed out, but my son's last day of classes is far more important. It's his Christmas presentation!

I'm such a stage mom! Can't stop taking pictures at his every move. And I just discovered that my son is such a talented dancer! Teacher placed him center stage front row! And he was the only one able to follow teacher's steps!

joaquin with his fans! Ninong Mikko and Tita Viel

Wished I can upload his dance, but the file is way too big! Lol :)

SaLad pRoJecT

After much stress and overthinking, I was able to finally come up with my salad presentation.

Salad Greens with Roasted Chicken Breast, Fresh Strawberries, Candied Pecans, tossed in Brown Sugar Balsamic Vinaigrette, and topped with Goat Cheese.

Closer look

I was extremely nervous that my salad was too plain since I saw my classmates having tons of garnish and really complicated cooking methods for their proteins (like duck confit), but it turns out Chef doesn't like complicated salads. As he says, the simpler the better. And yes, I got a damn good grade :)

Is this me?

I'm known at school as the serious no-nonsense 'Mommy Con'. Rarely do they invite me on their nights out and drinking sessions since they know I have to go straight home to Joaquin and hubby. Sure being the 'Mommy' has its perks but sometime you miss how it feels to be young and 'reckless'. So when my teeny-bopper classmates invites me to join in the 'fun', this is what happened....

Hilarious!

JoaQuin is poTTy Trained!!!

After months of 'trial and error' and absolute messiness (lol!)... It finally happened!

Clutching his 'tuti', he rushed frantically towards me shouting "Mama! weewee ako! Dali na-wee-wee ako". I immediately jumped up from bed, grabbed his chubby little arm and ran to the restroom. When we got in the toilet, i helped him pull down his little shorts and it happened!!! I was like a madwoman jumping up and down, and shouting in triumph!

It may sound crazy but at that moment I felt that I won the lottery! Hahahahahaha! I immediately called my mom and shared the good news! Hahahaha! As i write this down, I can't help but giggle remembering how silly I was. Hahaha! This is just one of the "Mommy-moments" I truly treasure.

Papa's 58th birthday

Papa celebrated his 58th birthday, not with an elaborate over the top bash, but as simple as one can imagine, as the way he loves it... with family.

I wish I can speed up time, I wish I'm now working and earning big.... why? I want to return the favor. I want to buy Papa lots of things. I want to buy him a big television, a new car, etc... But most of all, I want him to rest and enjoy life. I want him to stop working and relax.

He has done so so much for us that I feel I haven't given much in return. In spite of his age, after the Ondoy tragedy, he was still our source of strength. He never showed any sign of weakness or hopelessness. He remained steadfast amidst the loss. And his reason? He says, he is the "Padre de Pamilya", "ako ang sandigan at dapat sandalan".

Others may find him weird that he doesn't go out much or that he just stays alone. But you see, we are his barkada. And what he often says "basta anjan kayo at kayo kasama ko, masaya na ko".
