My parents' marriage is not perfect. They sure had their ups and downs, but one thing I have observed, all these years, they put each other first, next to God. I can really see how much my Papa adores my Mama. He would get alarmed when Mama gets sick, and often he would utter these words to us children, "Anak dbaleng ako magkasakit, wag lang Mama niyo. Mas importante Nanay lalo na sa mga anak. Kaya patignan nyo agad Mama niyo pag masama pakiramdam, samahan niyo pag may kailangan". The same goes for my Mama, Papa is in her list of priorities. I have seen how her being submissive (at the right times), and supportive to Papa made their marriage stronger.
I pray and thank the Lord for adding another year in my parents' lives. I thank the opportunity to witness what and how a marriage should be. I pray that my marriage would be just like theirs or even better :)
